“Oh my goodness, this book is perfect. I loved it!
The characters are brilliant and enjoyable. I loved Grace in an instant. What she does at the beginning of the book to get herself out of a bad situation, had me liking her from the start. She is in an impossible situation, put there by her father’s stupidity and heartlessness. I admit I was nervous about Grace’s scheme at first, but I enjoyed how events unfolded and I loved the end result.
For a little bit, I was torn between who she should end up with, but during the course of the book, and getting to know the characters, there was a clear winner. Grace puts herself in a tough situation and didn’t think initially about what could transpire. Not only to her, but everyone around her. Nicholas reminded me of the beast from Beauty and the Beast. He needed his tough, strong-willed heart softened and Grace worked her way into it. She had a way of doing that with everyone she came in contact with. Grace’s genuine demeanor and kindness were my favorite things about her.
5 out of 5 stars. This is an excellent, clean romance that will have you quickly turning pages. I have always enjoyed Michele’s books, but I have to say, this one is my favorite.”

“I loved this book. It is definitely a book to read again and I don’t read many books more that once. I read a lot of historical romances and this one is the best I have read for some time. I plan to purchase the other books in the series.”

“In the world of clean regency romance this one hovers near the top. The story is exciting and original and the characters are developed well and have interesting backgrounds.
If you like this one, keep reading. the second book is a bit slower but carry on because the third book is the best of the series and you won’t regret reading the first two as to understand the character and draw of Christopher in the third.
I love finding clean historical fiction that doesn’t just copycat the pride and prejudice storyline. This series does not disappoint.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed and had a hard time putting it down when I had things to do.”

“This was a wonderful regency romance with deep characters who keep you guessing throughout the book. I loved their interaction and the tension in the plot.
I loved seeing Lord Sutherland’s transformation from the gruff, revenge-filled man to a man filled with contentment and peace. Grace is a gem of a heroine who makes the best of life, even when it throws her hard knocks. Great journey and romance that is written extremely well and kept my attention riveted to each page.
If I could compare this story to a dessert, I would make it a hot fudge brownie sundae…my favorite. I could eat it again and again and never tire of it, and this is a story that will go in my favorites collection to reread in the future.”

“What a great feel-good story that reminds me of the hope and need for love that lives in us all. The characters quickly come to life and you find yourself cheering for a very long life filled with happiness and joy for them all. Great book for all audiences. This is book is solely good, clean reading.”

“Still have a smile on my face. Goodness gracious, I want to read this book again 8 hours after I finished it.
Haven’t found a book in a LONG time that has all the elements of a good romance–to me anyway. 1) Independent-minded, mature heroine (Grace is 24 with a lot of life experience packed into those 24 years). 2) Substance! I can’t stomach the young ages and immaturity of many romances. A giggle? Death sentence. I put the book down right there. Michele Paige Holmes has written a wonderful Regency novel with substance. Substance like adversity and forgiveness. So refreshing! 3) Tension/angst between hero and heroine lasts the entire book. This is very tricky to do without making the reader pull their hair out. I don’t like my characters falling in love too early. I want to enjoy the journey with them. But Ms. Holmes has done it perfectly. The cautious growth and wary discovery of each other that takes place between Grace and Nicholas happens slowly and therefore realistically.
A heart-wrenching love triangle also adds to the angst. And 4) Sexual tension without sex! Imagine that. Thank you Ms. Holmes for giving us romance-lovers a memorable, inspiring clean romance. I will be rereading this one often–just like a good romance in my DVD collection.”

“How refreshing to read a historical novel that breaks new ground. From start to finish this book held my delighted interest.”

“Saving Grace is now sitting quite high on a short list of favorite books. I had no idea when I started reading that I would be so enchanted.
The characters each carried their own burdens on shoulders tired from their weight. I ached for each of them as their tales unraveled before me. I was filled with emotion many times as I read. Each halting attempt at interaction between Grace and Nicholas seemed hopeless, yet you could almost see their hearts and minds changing. Too many obstacles seemed to be in the way of happiness for any of the characters in this story, and yet somehow happiness was the end result of a great deal of misunderstanding and missteps. The road to love was certainly rocky for all involved.”

“Saving Grace is one of those books that you start reading and you can’t stop. This Regency Romance novel has everything that you could love: a strong heroine, Grace, in a bad situation looking for hope and a way out; a handsome, stubborn male lead, Nicholas, who wants to fall for the heroine but things from his past still haunt him and he’s worried about taking a chance on love; and then we have the other man, Samuel, that loves our heroine and wants her, but his past is also standing in his way towards happiness. Of course there are the other things that add to the drama like the manipulative, gambling father of our heroine and the snobby, heartless mother of our hero who wants nothing to do with the commoner Grace.
I loved the funny situations that Grace seems to always find herself in,many of them are of her own doing. She has learned how to be strong as she practically raised her younger siblings Helen and Christopher, by herself, while her widower father was out gambling and drinking. Grace is so likable a character that you want everything good to happen for her, but at times I wanted to shake her silly when it came to romantic love. The tension between brother-in- laws Nicholas and Samuel, was well written and felt throughout the story. Because of the death of Nicholas’s sister Elizabeth, who was also Samuel’s wife, the neighboring estates became places of sadness, hatred and revenge. Without giving too much away, I loved how Grace came in with her kind and loving disposition that ultimately changes things for both men.
I truly ended up loving this story! The great characters, interesting situations and wonderful storytelling will make Saving Grace a favorite among Regency Romance readers.”

“A very sweet and romantic read.”

“I loved reading Saving Grace! I read it in one day. Grace is a strong heroine who always makes the best of her circumstances. I love how loyal she is to her family. I also enjoyed the two men that make up the love triangle. At the beginning you are cheering for one man, but at the end you know who she will really end up with. This book demonstrates the healing and transforming power of love on a person. This was the first book that I have read from this author but now I want to read more. If you are looking for a good clean romance than I would highly recommend this book.”

“This is a book that as soon as I finished it, I had to refer it to my friends. I love historical romance! The plot was full of twisty surprises, and the characters shared their secrets slowly, keeping my interest high throughout. Each was flawed in different ways, and there were no easy fixes to the problems–I like that, but I think I held my breath for the last 40 pages or so!”
