Happy Halloween and Mr. Romantic

The dedication in my novel, Counting Stars, reads, "To Dixon, for more romance than I could ever begin to write about."
These past few weeks I've been reminded of just how true that statement is.

As I hit crunch time for finishing up my next novel, my husband has been going the extra mile to make sure I have the time I need to write. Two weekends ago I spent ten glorious hours at the library, typing away, while he took care of things at home. Last weekend I needed to stay at home to do some additional research, so he packed up the kids and took them to see Mr. Bean's Holiday. If that isn't going above and beyond, I don't know what is!

A few days ago, Dixon just seemed to know I was having a difficult day (maybe it was that 4:00, "I'm losing it with our children" phone call :D), and he came home from work with a dozen roses in hand. Last night he stayed up with me until 11:30, making bloody fingers cookies and two dozen Frankenstein Jello cups for Halloween parties today. His time was all the more a sacrifice, as he got up an hour earlier than I did so he could get his run in.

I could go on and on about how truly blessed I am to have this man by my side. Though life often seems stressful and difficult, having someone to get through it with makes all the difference. No character I can create will ever come close to my real, Mr. Romantic.

Happy Halloween, dear.
